Provided by Prince William County
The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently authorized the county executive to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Virginia Department of Health to accept $1 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) allocated from the Virginia Department of Health under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES Act).
The money will go toward staffing, testing supplies and managing laboratory capacity for free COVID-19 testing sites operated by Prince William County. It will cover costs associated with COVID-19 expenses incurred between March 1 and Dec. 30, 2020.
For a schedule of upcoming test site locations, visit the County COVID-19 website.
The federal government provided the funding to states based on population, and Virginia received $3.1 billion as its share of the CRF funding and distributed the money among the state’s jurisdictions based on population.
