The project will also include the widening and improvement of the section of Telegraph Road between the existing intersection with Caton Hill Road and the existing intersection of Prince William Parkway. Included with the projectis a continuous sidewalk and shared-use path along the project corridor to enhance pedestrian safety and ease congestion around the Horner Road Park-and-Ride lot.

The virtual presentation and comment form will go live on July 30 on the department’s website at Send comments via mail to Gladis Arboleda, Project Manager, 5 County Complex Court, Suite 290, Woodbridge, VA 22192. Call 703-792-7159 or email

Those who watch the presentation will learn more about the $35 million project to utilize regional funds. The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority recently awarded $24 million as part of the FY2020-2025 Six Year Program to fund the project.  These funds supplement the $11 million of existing FY2018-2023 Six Year Program Funds previously allocated to the project.

The Prince William Department of Transportation issued the design contract in December 2019, with the conceptual design completed in April. In July, the plans were 30 percent complete, with completion scheduled by the summer of 2021. Completion of utility relocation is set for the summer of 2022. The project is set to be complete by the winter of 2023.
