Mountain View Elementary School Principal Adriane Harrison led a presentation to the School Board at the Board’s meeting on June 7 in a continuing series of “Best Practices” shared with the Board.

Connecting, creating, and collaborating describes the philosophy at Mountain View Elementary School. The school’s early venture into STEAM—integrating arts into the science, technology, engineering, and math curriculum—has resulted in student achievement at the highest levels.

Central to the STEAM curriculum is a MakerSpace which was added to the school four years ago. Expansion to other hands-on activities integrating STEAM and technology has put the school on the national stage. Mountain View Elementary School received a Future of Education Technology Conference STEM Excellence Award, and the school has a partnership with the U.S. Patent Office. Students at Mountain View Elementary School are ready to take their skills and knowledge to the next level.
