Supporting Blue Ridge Hospice and the Little Garden Club of Winchester
HAYMARKET, VA, Paola McDonald, designer and owner of Creative Elegance Interiors based in Haymarket, has been chosen for the 2013 Winchester Design Showhouse & Gardens Project. This exciting project, benefitting Blue Ridge Hospice and the Little Garden Club of Winchester, will be open for public tours this September.
McDonald was one of many designers, artists and landscapers that submitted design concepts to transform 18 interior and exterior spaces at the historical Headley House at Long Green, built circa 1760 and 1800s. “The history of this property makes it a perfect canvas for this event. It will allow us an opportunity to unify the period elements of the home with the conveniences and styles of modern society,” stated McDonald.
McDonald’s innovative design for the front foyer was chosen by the design selection team who noted, “The color palate, texture, fabric and placement you’ve chosen will transform that space into something magical by September.” McDonald’s design features a warm, subtle metallic faux finish on the walls; sophisticated, yet comfortable furnishings; and artwork that highlight the “horse country” setting of the home.
“We are thrilled to support this wonderful cause and hope our community will come out to see the beautiful spaces transformed at the Headley house this September,”said McDonald.
The Design Showhouse will serve as Winchester’s first design showhouse and is expected to draw crowds of nearly 5,000 visitors who will come to tour the unveiled Headley House at Long Green. Public tours will be open September 7 – 29, 2013. For more information about the Winchester Design Showhouse & Gardens Project, go to http://winchestershowhouse.com.
