Wreath-laying at Quantico

The Colonel William Grayson Chapter (CWG), Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution, joined hundreds of patriotic Americans at the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Quantico National Cemetery. This tribute is in honor of Sgt. Eric McColley, USMC. Evergreen wreaths with red bows were placed on over 11,000 graves of veterans interred at Quantico. Members of the Elizabeth McIntosh Hammill Chapter (EMH) of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and members of the Colonel William Grayson Society Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R) joined GWG Chapter in the wreath-laying.

The Sgt. Mac Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to honor the memory of Marine Sgt. Eric McColley. Eric was killed along with seven fellow Marines and two Airmen when two Marine CH-53e helicopters collided off the coast of Djibouti, Africa on Feb. 17, 2006. Eric, like so many other service members, gave his life doing what he loved, serving his country.

CWG members participating were Mike Taimi, Barry Schwoerer, Bruce Downs, Tom Warzywak, and Kevin Schwoerer. EMH Chapter DAR members included Janie Warzywak and Anna Schwoerer. CWG Society C.A.R members included Arianna, Sophia, and Gracelynn Schwoerer.
