For the fifth time, Del. Richard L. Anderson (R-51st) and Sen. George L. Barker (D-39th) will host their annual joint town hall following the yearly legislative session of the Virginia General Assembly that began on January 13 and ended on March 11 of this year. The event is open to all residents at no cost.
The event will be on Saturday, May 14, from 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon in the chambers of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors at the James J. McCoart Government Center, 1 County Complex Court, Woodbridge, VA. No RSVP is required.
At the meeting, Anderson and Barker will discuss the 2016 legislative session, with emphasis on bills that they patroned. They will also discuss outcomes of the session, such as the two-year, biennial Virginia state budget that takes effect on July 1, 2016 and runs through June 30, 2018. The major portion of the two-hour meeting will be devoted to questions, answers, and discussion among audience members. Both legislators want to hear the input, thoughts, and concerns regarding matters that came before the General Assembly this year.

Sen. Barker is in his third term and sits as a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Senate Education and Health Committee, and Senate General Laws and Technology Committee. He also serves on a number of legislative boards and commissions and represents parts of Prince William County, Fairfax County, and Alexandria City.
