Delegate Ayala Appointed to Commission on Electric Utility Regulation

House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn appointed Delegate Hala Ayala to serve on the Commission on Electric Utility Regulation. Her term that will be coincident with her current House term.

“I am proud to appoint Delegate Ayala to the Commission on Electric Utility Regulation,” said Speaker Filler-Corn. “She will help the Commission ensure Virginians receive the utility services they need at fair rates. I am eager to see the significant, positive contributions that Delegate Ayala will make to this Commission’s work … [It] is more important than ever as we navigate through the economic hardships COVID-19 has brought on Virginia.”

As a member of this Commission, Delegate Ayala will work with the State Corporation Commission to help secure reasonable and fair rates for the electric utility services Virginians receive. “I want to express my appreciation to Speaker Filler-Corn for this appointment,” said Delegate Ayala. “Every day, [we]hear from constituents in the 51st District …[and]throughout the Commonwealth on the financial difficulties they face during this pandemic. I look forward to assisting them in this new role while I serve on this Commission.”
