The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is excited to host its 13th Annual Red Carpet Showcase on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Montclair Country Club, 16500 Edgewood Drive, Montclair.

This is a free, public event hosted by the Chapter to encourage literacy and exposure to the arts, while providing an opportunity for area emerging artists, authors and musicians to showcase their talents to the community.

This year’s program will feature five authors.

  • Shardy Cammack resides in Stafford and penned the fiction, interracial love story, Cream ‘n My Coffee.
  • Ricardo M. Fleshman lives in Prince William County and is the author of the Detective Moses Byone novels and the Armond Fontenot mysteries.
  • Dr. Juna Mackey-Padilla is also a Prince William County resident and has written a book of Christian poetry, a daily devotional and an encouraging work about the power of prayer.
  • Dr. Neosho Ponder lives in Washington, D.C., and wrote a memoir about her breast cancer battle, titled God’s Got Jokes: How I Used My Faith and God’s Humor to Survive Breast Cancer.
  • Vailes Shepperd also resides in Washington, D.C., and is the author of A Good Ending for Bad Memories, a fiction novel about a prosperous Black family before, during and after slavery.

In addition, several area students will recite poetry and sing musical selections.

During the program, guests will have the opportunity to hear from the authors, purchase their books and enjoy delicious refreshments. The community is encouraged to support local talent, enjoy an afternoon of artistic fun, and perhaps indulge in a bit of holiday shopping!
