  • Canvas (I got mine at the local craft store but you can use any type of material)
  • Paint
  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Paintbrush
  • Hot Glue Gun

Cut out the shape you want your banner pieces to be. You can do the rectangular shape like I have here, or triangular. You can use a heart shaped stencil to paint on your hearts or freehand it. I prefer my projects to not have that perfect store bought look so I freehand mine. Use glitter on the hearts you want to accent before the paint dries. I’m not a huge fan of glitter but I did want a couple of my hearts to pop. I use a dry paintbrush to remove excess glitter from the fabric around the heart. Measure your twine the length of your mantle or table. Hot glue the top flap around the twine leaving a little room for the pieces to slide.

I accidentally made my pieces too long based on where I painted my hearts so I snipped off the bottoms and created the ‘be mine’ pieces with a fine point permanent marker. Hang and enjoy! If you happen to make this project please send a photo to so that I can share on our Facebook Fan Page.
