All dogs four months of age and older must be licensed. Dog licenses are renewed annually, and can be purchased beginning in November. The due date for renewals is January 31 of each year (Prince William Code, Chapter 4, Article IV).
Dog licenses can be purchased at the Animal Shelter, Taxpayer Services Offices, or by mail. To purchase a
license, complete a Dog License Application Form, available at http://www.pwcgov.org/government/dept/
finance/Documents/doglicenseapplication.pdf, and return it with a current rabies vaccination certificate. A
license will not be issued without proof of a current rabies vaccination. The fee is $10.00 per dog license.
