ARTfactory Rooftop Productions Presents Doubt, A Parable by John Patrick Shanley

Rooftop Productions presents John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt, A Parable – winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award. Set against the backdrop of a 1960s America in the midst of political and social change, a progressive young priest’s conduct comes under question by Sister Aloysius Beauvier, the school principal whose beliefs are deeply rooted in tradition. The play explores the fine line between truth and ambiguity. Town of Dumfries Cleanup

Calling all Dumfries residents! Join your neighbors in removing litter from around the Town of Dumfries! Volunteers will also be able to label storm drains in the area. Supplies are provided. Marine Corps Heritage Foundation Hosts Screenings of “Full Metal Jacket”

The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation will hold two showings of Stanley Kubrick’s Oscar nominated film “Full Metal Jacket” on the giant screen at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Adapted from the novel “The Short-Timers,” the movie first follows a platoon of Marines through their boot camp experience under the command of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (R. Lee Ermey) during the Vietnam War. The screenings accompany the museum’s current display of “Full Metal Modine,” a photographic exhibition of images captured by Modine during the filming of the movie.  Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased on the Foundation’s website. “Pathways & Precipices” Robyn Ryan Art Exhibit Artist Reception

Robyn initiated over 25 pieces of artwork in her residency in New Mexico and nurtured an array of additional ideas to expand into this new body of work titled “Pathways & Precipices.” The exhibit is arranged to guide you through Robyn’s journey to share in the experiences and adventure of discovery and growth through her art. The artist’s intention is for you to leave inspired to explore and seek new vistas yourselves; for you to find and nourish your own adventurer and inner child again; to reclaim your own sense of awe and wonder of the amazing creation we live in. Bluebell Festival at Merrimac Farm WMA

Welcome spring, celebrate nature close to home and view the fabulous Virginia Bluebells that carpet the Cedar Run shoreline for nearly a mile. Meet local organizations and people who are working to improve our community. With some of the best Northern Virginia naturalists leading tours and activities, this will be a special day at an outstanding natural area. NVA Thai Street Food & Culture Festival
