When a community invests in its schools, the impact is felt far beyond a single event. The Manassas Park Education Foundation’s annual Topgolf Fundraiser is one such investment, turning community generosity into lasting opportunities for students and educators across Manassas Park City Schools.
Funds raised through last year’s Topgolf fundraiser were reinvested directly into student scholarships and teacher grants, supporting innovative programs not typically covered by school budgets. These grants allow educators to bring new ideas to life, meet students where they are, and strengthen learning in ways that extend well beyond the classroom.
At Manassas Park Elementary School, teacher grant funding supported the First Lego League Robotics program, providing materials and competition-related resources that introduced students to problem-solving, collaboration, and early STEM concepts. The same school also used grant funding to support a wellness initiative through the purchase of pedometers for physical education classes. These tools helped students develop healthy habits while taking ownership of their personal fitness, creating excitement around movement and long-term well-being.
At Manassas Park Middle School, funds are currently supporting a literacy initiative led by reading specialists and the school librarian. Designed with middle school students in mind, including those who may be reluctant readers, the program encourages daily reading through student incentives and a monthly family prize that promotes caregiver involvement. The focus is on building sustainable reading habits that extend beyond the school day and support lifelong learning.
Beyond classroom programs, proceeds from last year’s fundraiser also strengthened the Foundation’s scholarship efforts. The event helped grow the scholarship pool to 18,000 dollars for Manassas Park High School graduating seniors, expanding direct financial support for students pursuing postsecondary education and easing the transition beyond graduation.
What sets the Topgolf Fundraiser apart is its inclusive and welcoming approach. No golfing experience is required, making it accessible to educators, families, alumni, local businesses, and community leaders alike. The relaxed setting creates space for connection, while the impact remains deeply local. Every dollar raised supports students who live in the community and who will one day contribute to the region’s workforce and civic life.
The Manassas Park Education Foundation invites businesses, families, and community partners from across the region to participate or sponsor this year’s event. While Manassas Park is geographically small, its reach is regional. Families who live here work, shop, and engage throughout Prince William County and the City of Manassas. Supporting Manassas Park schools strengthens the broader community by investing in future employees, leaders, and neighbors.
Events like the Topgolf Fundraiser play a critical role in the Foundation’s long-term mission. In addition to funding immediate needs such as robotics programs, literacy initiatives, and scholarships, these gatherings build partnerships, raise awareness, and create sustained community investment in education. Over time, this approach deepens impact and helps ensure Manassas Park City Schools continue preparing students for success well beyond graduation.
