Dumfries Councilman Brian Fields’ New Appointments

Brian Fields, Councilman of The Town of Dumfries has been appointed to serve on the National League of Cities’ (NLC) National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials as the Executive Board Member at Large Director.

Fields has also been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2024 Small Cities Council and the National League of Cities (NLC) 2024 Public Safety and Crime Prevention (PSCP) Federal Advocacy Committee.

Both appointments were announced by NLC President Mayor David Sander of Rancho Cordova, Calif.

As a member of NLC’s National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, Fields will assist in improving the quality of life for current and future constituents by protecting the interest of cities, towns and villages by aiding to influence federal policy, strengthen local leadership and drive innovation solutions. For more information on NLC’s member councils, click here.

As a member of NLC’s Small Cities Council, Fields will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders to encourage collaboration, networking and the development of resources and programs beneficial to communities that share demographics, size or location that can be replicated across the country. Councilman Fields will also play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities, towns and villages before Congress, with the administration and at home.
