On Monday, April 18 at 3:06 p. m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to town house fire located in the 14600 block of Earlham Court in Montclair.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews observed smoke showing from the roof. Upon entry, firefighters discovered fire in the attic, commenced a fire attack and extinguishment.

Firefighters checked for further fire extension; no further extension was found.

No injuries reported.

The occupants, two adults, were displaced by the fire.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $5,000.

A Building Inspector was on scene and has posted the home unsafe.

The area of origin was an attic fan; the cause has been determined as accidental.
