Provided by Keep Prince William Beautiful
Keep Prince William Beautiful (KPWB) is an organization which, with the help of volunteers, strives to keep Prince William County roads, parks, and neighborhoods free from litter. We have noticed an increase in the amount of litter accumulating in our neighborhoods, along our roadways, and in our public and shared spaces. To help address this growing litter problem, we are joining forces with Woodbridge District Supervisor Margaret Franklin to tackle the heavily littered areas on and around Route 1 in Woodbridge in honor of Earth Day.
If you live, work, or play along Route 1, you and your family are invited to register for this community event. The cleanup takes place on Saturday, April 24th, 2021 from 10am-1pm and registration is required. We will have four check-in areas; when you register you can pick which check-in location you would like to use for supply pickup. All supplies will be provided- litter pickers, garbage bags, safety vests, and gloves (and hand sanitizer!). We will have snacks available as well water in a paper- and plant-based carton donated by JUSTWater.
To help this community event have even more of an environmental impact, GreenDrop will have a truck parked at one of our check-in locations for donations of unused household items. Acceptable items include clothing, shoes, blankets and bedding, and small appliances. For a full list of acceptable items, please contact us for the donation flyer specific to this event.
Please dress appropriately for this cleanup; we recommend close-toed shoes and long pants and sleeves. In order to maintain COVID-19 safety measures, we are requiring masks for this event and will enforce social distancing.
