Eavesdrop Brewery is a collaboration focused brewery opening in March 2018. Located on Route 28 in Yorkshire, Eavesdrop features a large tasting room and production facility housed in a former racing pigeon loft. The loft has been renovated with 20 taps, a rooftop bar, and plenty of comfortable seating. On the grounds, you’ll find a hop garden, apple trees, berry bushes, and more. These areas have been outfitted with family-style seating and fire pits, and guests are expected to be drawn outside to enjoy offerings in a spacious, natural setting.

Eavesdrop will produce a variety of beers on their 3-barrel system, with an emphasis on farmhouse styles, IPAs, and barrel-aging. There will also be a large focus on producing collaboration beers with breweries both local and abroad. The team at Eavesdrop hopes to showcase the talents of ambitious, unique brewers in an effort to introduce more diversity to the blossoming craft beer culture in Northern Virginia and surrounding areas. Eavesdrop beers will make up the majority of the tap list, with the remainder being filled out by various collaboration brews.

Collaborations at Eavesdrop will not end with beer; there are plans to work with local chefs and restaurants to organize bespoke beer dinners and tasting events. Eavesdrop hopes to join forces with many local businesses to craft unique experiences for their guests.

Brewery direction and operations are overseen by Chief Operating Officer Joe Rivera. Rivera has worked on the management teams at Old Ox Brewery (Ashburn) and 3 Stars Brewing Company (Washington, D.C.), and is passionate about fostering a vibrant local craft beer scene. The concept for a collaboration focused brewery was conceived and funded by local entrepreneurs Jeb Carney and Frank Madden. Carney, Madden, and Rivera are already planning the first expansion into an adjacent building to accommodate a larger production area, kitchen, and additional seating. A soft opening period is planned, beginning March 9.
