The expo “Transitions – Resources for Aging Gracefully” will be returning for its sixth year to showcase available to seniors, their families and caregivers to help enhance senior living. This year, the expo will be held at the food court at Potomac Mills Mall, between 9:30 a. m. and 1:30 p. m. on Wednesday, May 15.

The Prince William Area Agency on Aging and the Prince William Chamber of Commerce will team up with Sentara at the free event to bring experts and exhibitors together to help caregivers and older adults learn how to help seniors age in place. This includes information on stroke prevention and awareness, housing, entertainment and volunteer opportunities, as well as how caregivers can manage working while tending to their elderly loved ones.

Sarah Henry, the director of the Area Agency on Aging, said that the event is a great way for caregivers to learn about resources available in the Prince William area. “Everyone’s situation is different. Understanding the resources that are available can help caregivers manage the caregiving process for their loved ones and help older adults age in place and remain in their homes safely.”

More information about the Transitions Expo is available on the Area Agency on Aging’s website.
