Information regarding elementary school boundary changes for the 2019-20 school year is being sent to those students affected. School principals are planning various events to welcome their new families, as well as provide information for a successful start to the new school year.

Current fourth grade students (rising fifth graders) have the option to complete their elementary education at their current zoned school. Parents of those students who choose to remain will have to provide their own transportation, as bus service is only available to those attending schools based on the new boundaries.

Families who have been rezoned are encouraged to check their new school’s website for open house information and other important dates.

The following elementary schools have open house/welcome events scheduled:

Antietam – Tuesday, April 30
Belmont – Thursday, May 30
Lake Ridge – Thursday, March 28
Springwoods – Saturday, April 6

These boundary changes came from the direction of the Prince William County School Board in an effort to relieve overcrowding and limit the need for future student relocations across the area. View information regarding the boundary process.
