Scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at Fair Oaks Mall and Sunday, May 19 at Grace Murray Hopper Park, participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in the fun-filled event. This empowering 5K series instills a sense of accomplishment through completion as program participants cross the finish line.
“We are excited to see all of our program participants shine as they cross the finish line, many of them completing their first 5K,” said Caroline Woods, GOTR NOVA Executive Director. “The 5K is a celebration of their dedication, perseverance, and teamwork. It’s incredible to witness the transformation that occurs when girls believe in themselves and realize their limitless potential.”
The 5K event serves as the culmination of the Girls on the Run program, where girls have been preparing both physically and emotionally for this significant milestone. It’s an opportunity for the girls to showcase their progress, and a chance for the community to come together in support of their growth and achievements.
Both of the GOTR NOVA 5Ks are open to the public, welcoming runners, walkers, volunteers, and spectators to join in the festivities. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines or crossing the finish line, these events promise to be an inspiring and unforgettable experience for all.
