Dog Days/Family Day at the Museum: Animals in the Marine Corps

June 18 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Man’s best friend is taking over the National Museum of the Marine Corps!

On the Museum’s parade deck, there will be several activities based on the vital role dogs play in the Marine Corps and the community. See working and service dog demonstrations, and meet therapy dog and rescue dog organizations. The official Marine Corps mascot, Chesty XVI, will be greeting visitors. Inside the Museum, the Education Team will host Family Day activities, and children will have the opportunity to read to therapy dogs during “Tales with Tails.”

Dogs are welcome on the grounds of the Museum. Please keep dogs on a leash and use the “doggie” relief area near the flagpole.

During the National Museum of the Marine Corps’ Dog Days event, the Museum’s Education Department will focus on the famous, and maybe not so famous, animals that have served alongside Marines!

Events are free and open to the public.
