Fasting is a widespread practice in various religions, including Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Fasting is accompanied by prayer, reflection, and acts of charity across religions, demonstrating a universal pursuit of spiritual purification and devotion.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, cherished by Muslims worldwide for its spiritual significance. Lasting 29 or 30 days, it involves fasting from dawn to sunset as a means of purification and drawing closer to Allah. Ramadan commemorates the revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and is marked by increased worship, community gatherings for pre-dawn and sunset meals, and acts of charity. It serves as a time for self-reflection, repentance, and gratitude, emphasizing the core values of Islam such as mercy, justice, and compassion. Ramadan represents a transformative journey of the heart and soul, uniting believers in devotion and piety.
