Keep Prince William Beautiful Launches ‘Do Beautiful Things Series’

March 25, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

Community partnership event-series focuses on great things to do in a clean, green community

Prince William, Virginia – Keep Prince William Beautiful, Prince William County’s leading non-profit organization to inspire individual responsibility and collective action toward a clean, green and vibrant community, announced today the ‘Do Beautiful Things Series’, a partnership-driven series of outreach and community events, free to the public, and designed to celebrate all the ‘beautiful’ things to do in Prince William County.

“We always say we don’t clean up only for the sake of keeping Prince William beautiful, but rather so our citizens can do beautiful things,” said KPWB’s Executive Director Jason Parsons, “When parks are clean, kids will go; home values are higher in neighborhoods free of litter; businesses open on clean, green streets, and the list goes on. These events will help us take the ‘do beautiful things’ message to the community, and in a way that promotes other sustainable programs that enable people to do beautiful things.”

The series kicks-off March 25th in partnership with the Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Master Gardeners for a class on Sustainable Gardening Practices. This event takes place from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Central Community Library, 8601 Mathis Avenue, Manassas, Va. Please call 703-792-7747 to register to attend.

The Do Beautiful Things Series will also include a yoga class at Lake Ridge Park, a nature painting demonstration, planter box gardening, among others that will run from March – September 2017. To stay up to date with events in the Do Beautiful Things Series, visit kpwb.org, or e-mail Jen Medina at <a href=jmedina@kpwb.org, and ask to be added to the Series notification list.

“We look forward to partnering with organizations, farmers, conservationists, neighborhood leaders, and others to celebrate the beautiful things we can do when our community is clean and green,” added Parsons, “Join us for these events and learn about the great work we are doing – including removing nearly 90,000 pounds of litter a year from our roadways and streets – to keep Prince William beautiful.”
