Marine Corps Heritage Foundation Hosts Special Screenings of “Flags of Our Fathers”

February 17 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation will hold limited showings of Clint Eastwood’s acclaimed film “Flags of Our Fathers.” The movie explores the compelling stories of the five heroic Marines and a Navy Corpsman who were believed to be those who raised the American flag at the Battle of Iwo Jima, one of the most storied battles in Marine Corps history and a turning point in World War II. Moviegoers will also have the rare opportunity to view both flags raised over Iwo Jima in the Museum’s World War II Gallery, the one captured in the iconic photo by Joe Rosenthal, which was the second to be raised, as well as the initial flag.Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased on the Foundation’s website. Admission to the Museum and parking are always free and open to the public, no base access required.
