PurpleLight In Support of Pancreatic Cancer (DC)
Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 at 6:00 pm
To kick off November, Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, the National Capital Affiliate will host its annual PurpleLight honoring all those touched by pancreatic cancer.
Join us for inspiring stories, speakers and a time of reflection. Be sure to register as this is how you will submit your loved one’s name(s) to be included in the ceremony. This is a free event and open to all. Submissions (due Oct. 28) and registration are open here: forms.gle/wJy3en7nLYCshTpN7.
During November, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) urges people to take bold action in the fight against the world’s toughest cancer. Pancreatic cancer is one of the nation’s deadliest cancers, with a five-year survival rate of just 10 percent. Pancreatic cancer has claimed the lives of several notable figures – including Rep. John Lewis, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and baseball Hall of Famer Bob Gibson – just in the past few months. The low survival rates are unacceptable.
