The week will culminate in a full-scale exercise on Saturday, March 16 and involves activity on a plane resulting in a crash, fire and mass casualty injuries.  There will also be a criminal component to the incident, which will involve the City of ManassasPolice with support from other agencies and jurisdictions.  The exercise will test the Airport’s Emergency Plan.

This training is partially funded by an Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI), the Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP), and theNational Capitol Region (NCR) Exercise and Training Oversight Panel (ETOP).  The entire initiative is to help train City of Manassas public safety, Airport and other City staff, as well as surrounding jurisdiction partners in the event of a real mass casualty, fire or police incident at the Manassas Regional Airport.
