Farrell & Croft, P.C. began in 1992 as a woman-owned and operated business, the first all-female law practice in the area at the time. They have come a long way in their careers since their early days, but continue to be a woman-owned and operated law practice.

Exciting things are happening for all their lawyers this year. Their practice has grown to six lawyers: four partners and two associates. Catherine Croft and Kathleen Farrell are the founding partners of this practice. These attorneys have won many accolades.

Partners’ Accolades

Kathy Farrell and Cathy Croft were recently again chosen as Top Lawyers in Divorce and Family Law from Northern Virginia Magazine.

“It’s an honor to be nominated and recognized by our respected peers in our area of practice,” Farrell said.

Amy Ashworth

Partner Amy Ashworth is working to improve her community by running for office. She is the Democratic candidate for Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney.

“I’m running for Commonwealth’s Attorney because I have seen firsthand as a prosecutor that we desperately need to reform how justice has been administered in this county,” Ashworth said.

“Amy’s experience in the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office as well as her sharp business acumen and undergraduate degree from JMU in business administration makes her the perfect candidate to move the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office forward. She is the best candidate for this position and Prince William County will be well served by her election. Our loss at Farrell & Croft, P.C. will be Prince William County’s gain,” said Catherine Croft. Remember to vote in the upcoming election on Nov. 5!

Jeanne A. Brown

Jeanne A. Brown, senior associate, was just awarded 2019 National Trial Lawyers Top 100 in Criminal Defense. Her practice is focused primarily on Criminal Defense and she is known for her strong work ethic and ability to achieve positive results for her clients.

Sarah A. Cohen

Junior associate Sarah A. Cohen just completed her clerkship for the Hon. Carrol A Weimer, Jr.

“It feels as if we have come full circle. While Kathy and I started our legal careers in the law firm of Weimer & Boyce, we now have the honor and opportunity to mentor Judge Weimer’s former judicial law clerk forward in the practice of law,” said Croft.

All partners in this practice are AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, a highly regarded peer review system for attorneys. They recognize attorneys for their high ethical standards and strong legal ability. These ratings help potential clients find high quality attorneys they can trust.
