Travel over the rainbow with Fauquier Community Theatre as they present the timeless classic and family favorite, The Wizard of Oz. After a tornado transports Dorothy (Bevin Hester) from her Kansas home to a strange and marvelous land, she encounters munchkins, witches, monkeys and all sorts of interesting characters as she searches for the Wizard (Shane Koehr) and a way to return home. Dorothy and her dog Toto (Isla Phillips) are joined on this quest by 3 unlikely friends: Scarecrow (Ashby Nye), Tin Man (Timothy Burhouse), and a very cowardly Lion (Joshua Vest). They help keep Dorothy, Toto, and a pair of enchanted slippers out of the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West (Megan Moore). Featuring many musical favorites including “We’re Off To See the Wizard”, If I Only Had A Brain”, “The Merry Old Land of Oz”, and “Over The Rainbow”. The Wizard of Oz: Young Performers’ Edition will be performed at The Fauquier Community Theatre at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA 20187 on June 2, 3, 9, 10, 2017 at 7:00 p. m. and June 4, 11, 2017 at 2:00 p. m.
