Manassas artist John Hartt will display his collection “Free Beer (and other lies)” at Arches Gallery at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton from Aug. 4 – Sept. 2.  Hartt is known for his quirky and colorful oil paintings which  have been described as strangely comforting.

His latest collection, “Free Beer (and other lies),” explores some of the concepts and stories surrounding beer, drunkenness and lies as only Hartt can interpret them. This wacky and colorful look at the tall tales associated with the bar scene will either fascinate you or have you scratching your head in bewilderment.

“I’ve spent most of my life drinking beer and telling lies, so this was an easy one for me”, said Hartt.

The opening reception is Saturday, Aug. 11, from 6:00-9:00 p. m.  Arches Gallery is in  Building 9 at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton and is open 11:00 a. m.-6:00 p. m. Wednesday through Saturday and 12:00-5:00 p. m. Sunday.
