I am delighted to introduce my inaugural newsletter. As we embark on this journey together, I recognize the immense privilege and responsibility entrusted to me by the residents of Prince William County, and I am proud to say our Board just passed a bipartisan budget that puts residents first.

We increased the computers and peripherals (C&P) tax rate from $2.15 per $100 to $3.70. The increased rate on computers and peripherals helps the county offset the residential property tax, allowing us to lower taxes for county residents. On average, homeowners will only pay an extra $26 in residential property taxes.

We also boosted our funding for schools by $105.1 million, or 13 percent, over the 2024 fiscal year budget. Education is one of the most important investments we can make in our future, and prioritizing the needs of our students will help us remain competitive with neighboring jurisdictions.

I’m particularly proud that this budget allows the county to create an Office of Youth Services, which will provide outreach, intervention and prevention services for disconnected and at-risk youth, as well as a 3 percent increase for existing community partners.

My intent is that this newsletter serves as a conduit for communication and collaboration between the County leadership and its residents. It is a platform where I aim to share insights, initiatives, and progress towards our shared vision for a vibrant, inclusive, and prosperous community.

I invite you to join me and my team on this journey, to share your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations, as together, we continue to shape the future of our county.

With regards,
