On Saturday, October 29, 2016, Make the Future will host area men for its Legacy Lecture Program. This weekend’s lecturer is Former Virginia State Delegate Michael Futrell. After the lecture, the Hon. Michael Futrell will facilitate a focused conversation among the fathers, sons, uncles, nephews, and mentors in attendance.
The goals of the Legacy Lecture are to provide a venue for men to come together to share strategies for meeting the challenges and opportunities of being a leading man and to model for younger men the effective behavior of a leading man.

Founded in 2010, Make The Future began with a summer basketball camp. After the launch of the basketball camp in the summer of 2010, Delegate and Dr. Futrell realized that they could make learning and athletics an enjoyable experience that could prepare future leaders for tomorrow. Make the Future has created several programs working with individuals, groups and organization to meet this mission.
