Accelerated program for rising freshmen at Osbourn Park High School puts students on the path toward STEM fields and The Governor’s School.
To best prepare for The Governor’s School, consider Pre-Governor’s School (PGS) program at Osbourn Park High School. This is a preparatory program with an accelerated mathematics and science course sequence. Like other specialty programs in PWCS, students must apply to attend. Details will be available at a specialty program information night at Osbourn Park High School on Thursday, December 8 at 7:00 p. m.
The PGS@OP program integrates strands in biology, chemistry, and physics with mathematics, concepts of engineering, and laboratory research. Students will also gain critical experience in technical writing—a “must” for success in advanced-level courses, and meet several graduation requirements through required courses. Students applying to the PGS@OP must have completed Algebra I by the end of eighth grade.
