October is Fire Prevention Month! The Prince William Fire Marshall’s Office wants you to know practicing fire safety and ensuring fire prevention are year-round efforts. There are important messages the office wants residents to look out for next month, and the Fire Marshall will go live with Fire Protection ePlan submissions for commercial property and residential projects.

While staying home and staying safe has taken on an all new meaning in 2020, it remains even more important to practice fire protection and whole home safety.

During October, the Fire Marshall’s Office will share educational opportunities, ePlan demonstration classes, FAQs for general contractors and residential improvements.

Fire Protection ePlan submissions that will be required to be processed via the Building Development Division ePlan are:

  • Fire Alarms
  • Sprinkler Systems including Fire Pumps, Remote FDC and Breezeway Loops
  • Alternative Suppressions Systems including Cleaning agents, CO2, and other inert gas
  • Underground Fire Lines
  • Kitchen Hood suppression systems

Please stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks for ePlan guidelines. Send all form submissions or inquiries to FMOSubmissions@pwcgov.org or call 703-792-6360.
