Micron Fund

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, in partnership with Micron Technology Inc., announced the opening of its 2021-2022 Micron Opportunity Fund grant cycle. This grant opportunity is available to nonprofits and public-school systems in Northern Virginia that provide education, skills acquisition, and mentoring for underrepresented and under-funded student populations in fields of engineering, technology, and STEM.

Two grants of $7,000 will be awarded for use during the calendar years 2021 and 2022. Preference will be given to nonprofits or school systems that have secured 1:1 match of grant funds, though the match is not required.

Grant applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on June 7, 2021. Winners will be announced August 1, 2021. If you have questions contact sari.raskin@cfnova.org or jennifer.cochran@cfnova.org.

Health Kids Grant Cycle

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia announced the opening of its 2021 Healthy Kids Grants cycle. The grants are available for the 2021-2022 academic school year. Eligible public schools in the region with programs focused on healthy lifestyles through increased exercise and physical activity or healthy nutrition may apply for grants up to $2,000 each.

Healthy Kids Grants are possible through support from The Permanent Fund for Northern Virginia. This endowment supports critical needs throughout the region with support from the Chin Family Charitable Fund and the J.O.Y. Charitable Funddonor established funds.
