pwc library(Prince William County, VA, 01/21/2014)… Join us at Potomac Community Library in the Community Room for Latino Reads on Tuesday, February 18th at 7:00 p.m. Dive into the Hispanic Literature and get a glimpse of this thriving and seductive culture. You can choose to read in English and/or Spanish. Everyone is welcome to participate in the discussion of the book “The Sound of the Things Falling” by Juan Gabriel Vasquez (Colombia) Notable book of 2013 by The New York Times. In the city of Bogotá, Antonio Yammara reads an article about a hippo that had escaped from a derelict zoo once owned by legendary Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. The article transports Antonio back to when the war between Escobar’s Medellín cartel and government forces played out violently in Colombia’s streets and in the skies above. His journey leads him all the way back to the 1960s and a world on the brink of change: a time before narco-trafficking trapped a whole generation in a living nightmare.  Drop-in; no registration required.
