Historic Manassas, Inc., a Main Street™ organization and the leading voice for historic preservation-based economic development and community revitalization in Historic Downtown Manassas since 1986, has initiated its search for a new Executive Director, following the resignation of long-time director Debbie Haight. The Board of Directors gratefully acknowledges the work that Debbie put into HMI and thanks her for 13 years of service.

“We are pleased to announce the start of our search process,” said Mark Olsen, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Coming out of Covid, the work that HMI does to promote the downtown and support our small businesses is more important than ever. We are seeking a highly energetic and creative individual with a passion for main street. As one of the most established of Virginia’s Main Street™ organizations, we expect this position to attract a great deal of interest.”

The job description is posted on HMI’s website and will be advertised nationally. The position will be open until filled with resumes reviewed as received.

In the interim, consultant and retired community developer Liz Gossman is directing the activities of HMI and will be assisting the Board of Directors with the executive search. HMI is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.

Historic Manassas, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable, non-profit corporation funded by private donations and the City of Manassas. Since February 1986, Historic Manassas, Inc. has been leading the revitalization and promotion of Historic Downtown Manassas.
