Historic Dumfries Virginia, Inc. is celebrating the addition of a new historical marker featuring the George Washington and cherry tree fable. The marker is a generous donation by The Mary Elizabeth Conover Foundation.

After the dedication and ceremony, visitors are invited to take free self-guided tours of the historic house, speak to interpreters, and listen to a live performance by the Broad Run Strings. Special thanks to Jeremiah’s Kansas City Style Bar B Q for sponsoring the ceremony in Merchant Park. The menu features Whole Smoked Suckling Pig, Bar B Q Chicken, Fresh Homemade Cole Slaw, Smoked Vegetarian Baked Beans, and other BBQ delights!
