Neabsco Regional Park will glow once again as Prince William County Parks and Recreation opens its 4th annual Holiday Walk of Lights on December 4. The waterfront boardwalk, already one of the county’s most peaceful places to explore nature, becomes a festive pathway filled with hand-crafted displays, holiday music, and moments families look forward to every year.

The celebration begins at 5 p.m. with a short kickoff ceremony. After that, the display stays open through select December evenings. Admission is free, which makes this event one of the most welcoming ways for families to enjoy the season.

A Tradition Built for Community

Visitors can stroll the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk surrounded by shimmering light tunnels, themed displays, and the quiet beauty of the wetlands. The atmosphere invites neighbors and visitors to take their time and appreciate the unique landscape that makes this park special.

Holiday characters will greet guests on select evenings, and carolers will fill the boardwalk with familiar songs. Small-business shopping opportunities will appear throughout the month, giving residents another way to support local makers.

A Night Designed for Sensory Needs

One of the most meaningful parts of this event is the sensory-friendly night on December 9. That evening features reduced noise, fewer crowds, and gentler lighting, creating an environment where more families can enjoy the experience together.

Parking and Planning Your Visit

To keep traffic safe for neighbors and guests, there is no shoulder parking along Blackburn Road. Free parking and free shuttle service are provided, with the last shuttle running at 8:30 p.m. Accessible parking is available at Neabsco Regional Park with a valid disabled placard or license plate. Complete details are available on the event website.
