A new seasonal tradition is coming to Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC). Long Family Markets is bringing a festive, outdoor holiday marketplace to the hospital’s main parking lot located at 2300 Opitz Blvd. on Thursday, Dec. 4, and Thursday, Dec. 11, from 2 to 7 p.m.
“As the holiday season approaches, the community is invited to enjoy a new festive tradition: a Holiday Market featuring handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats, and holiday cheer,” said SNVMC President Jeff Joyner.
Visitors will discover a curated selection of locally made, small-batch holiday gifts, including baked goods, gourmet foods, handmade soaps and body care, woodcrafts, jewelry, seasonal décor, winter produce, and more – all made with care by small businesses from across the region.

“The markets emphasize the importance of supporting small businesses, especially during the holiday season when every local purchase makes a meaningful impact,” said Robin Long, owner of Long Family Markets. “Shopping local doesn’t just fill your gift list — it strengthens the heart of our community.”
Long Family Markets, a veteran- and family-owned business based in Stafford County, has spent the past decade cultivating community, sustainability, and local entrepreneurship through fresh produce markets and artisanal goods. The organization also hosted SNVMC’s weekly farmers markets that ran last summer from June through September.
The Holiday Market provides an opportunity for shoppers to find unique, meaningful gifts while supporting local entrepreneurs. Each handmade item represents craftsmanship, creativity, and the stories of the makers behind them.
