Provided by American Legion Post 1799
Home Depot in Haymarket has presented American Legion Post 1799 with a gift of $1,000 to support Post activities. The gift was presented by Store Manager Jason Baker and Assistant Store Manager Stacia Harmon. Post Commander Ward Nickisch received the gift on behalf of the Post.
The gift was awarded as part of Home Depot’s “Operation Surprise” program which “aims to provide life-changing moments of surprise and support for veterans and communities in need.” The Post will use these funds to further its mission to serve military veterans as well as the larger Haymarket-Gainesville community.
The Haymarket Home Depot, which opened in August of this year, aims to support the local
community through both Operation Surprise as well as via the Team Depot program, the Home Depot’s
associate volunteer organization which nationally has helped The Home Depot Foundation improve
more than 50,000 veteran homes and facilities, as well as assist communities impacted by natural disasters.
