The Workhouse Arts Center is partnering with the Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) to bring to light the realities of hunger and homelessness in the Southeast Fairfax community. The exhibition and related activities will also serve as a call to action to help those in need.
The Home for Dinner art exhibition will feature the work of sixth grade students from elementary schools in Southeast Fairfax County. The work of the young artists will reflect what the phrase “home for dinner” means to them. Among the artwork, visitors will find donation stations where they can leave nonperishable items for LCAC’s food pantry. Participating schools include William Halley Elementary, Gunston Elementary and Silverbrook Elementary.
Activities related to the exhibition include a food drive contest among the participating elementary schools, artist awards and the 1st Annual LCAC Service Stroll.
