BARN will host its 17th Annual Festival of Trees Gala, “Hooray for Hollywood,” on Saturday, November 21st from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. in the Belmont Ballroom of the Washington-Dulles Hilton in Herndon, Virginia. The evening will begin with an open bar cocktail reception, silent auction, and raffle. The cocktail reception will be followed by dinner, live auction and dancing to the music of Bill Vaughn and Random Acts. A BARN mother who has completed the program and successfully moved into permanent housing will be recognized as the BARN Graduate of the Year.

A 501(c) 3 secular, non-profit, BARN provides clean, safe temporary housing for families in need of a helping hand. BARN, founded by the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia opened its doors to homeless families in 1997.

In the words of one of BARN’s graduates, “Barn provided that safe place for my family and I to recover from domestic violence. I was able to stop running away from my abuser and begin to plan for a healthier future. I remember walking through those doors for the first time and feeling a sense of relief. The love and generosity of the case managers, counselors, volunteers and donors of Barn was truly inspirational to me. I admire how Barn pours love on strangers. It has made a life-long impression on me. I am now a volunteer and donor to Barn and look forward to many more years of pouring love on strangers.”

Sponsors for this year’s event include QMT Windchimes, BAE Systems, Mary Ann Ghadban, Manassas Federation of Women’s Clubs and Evergreen Country Club. Last year’s Festival raised $100,000 to provide parenting classes, tutoring and counseling services that enabled our families to move into permanent housing.
