On May 2, 2022, Executive Director Jessica Root signed House of Mercy’s new lease, increasing the size of the space available for the Food Pantry and Community Thrift Store. Previously, House of Mercy occupied six of the nine available suite spaces. With the new lease, House of Mercy will be able to use all nine suite spaces in the building!

The first half of the acquisition will be of a smaller office space which the administrative staff will move into. This space also contains a large open space in the back which will be available as a meeting space for large groups upon request.

These changes are anticipated to take place during June and will be open to the public in July.

The second half of the acquisition will be of a large warehouse of office space located next to the Donation Center. The Food Pantry will be moving into this space, creating a welcome area for families receiving our services in the front and using the warehouse as the new location for the food pantry. This move will dramatically increase the size of the food pantry and help uphold the dignity of the families utilizing it, by providing them with more privacy as they seek assistance. The current food pantry space will be used as additional space for the Community Thrift Store.

These changes are expected to take place in the late summer or early fall of 2022.
