Provided by Center for the Arts
The Off the Wall #16 High School Art Exhibit and Competition will be on display Dec. 12 through Jan. 14 at the Center for the Arts, 9419 Battle Street, Manassas. Visit center-for-the-arts.org/exhibits/ for “How to Enter” info.
The highly anticipated Off the Wall competition returns for its 16th year! Each year the local area high school students are invited to showcase their talent by participating in a high school art competition. The competition encourages student expression and creativity in a professional setting and allows the participants to gain experience in the field of art. The exhibit includes student work in the following categories: Visual Art, Poetry, Wearable Art, and our STEAM influenced category, Art & Technology (3D prints & digital designs).
This year we are giving students the opportunity to assist with the curatorial process by inviting them to help install the artwork. Contact jexum@center-for-the-arts.org for more details.
View the student artwork at the Open House on Jan. 4, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Snow Date: Jan. 11, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.). Awards will be announced at the Open House.
Traveling Exhibition
The Off the Wall student exhibition has an option for traveling after its closing at Center for the Arts on Jan. 14. Artwork can travel to Lockheed Martin for the month of February. Participation in the traveling xhibition is completely optional (see exhibit form for more info).
