The Hylton Performing Arts Center announced the launch of a new program entitled American Roots Series, which is presented by F.H. Furr Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical as part of the venue’s 2017-2018 season. The series will feature the best of bluegrass, folk, country, and blues in up-close and down-home concerts at the Gregory Family Theater. Series packages and individual tickets are currently on sale at HyltonCenter.org.

Featured in the inaugural American Roots Series are Virginia native Annie Stokes and Baltimore’s Charm City Junction in a double-bill on October 6 at 8:00 p. m.; the Northwest roots and blues duo Ben Hunter and Joe Seamons on November 9 at 8:00 p. m.; the Canadian folk-fusion group Ten Strings And A Goatskin on February 17 at 8:00 p. m.; and Grammy®-nominated progressive bluegrass band Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen on April 20 at 8:00 p. m.

“The American Roots Series celebrates and explores a wide range of musical styles—all of which have a few things in common: feelings run deep, fingers move fast, and harmonies soar,” shared Rick Davis, Executive Director of the Hylton Performing Arts Center. “From established names to the stars of tomorrow, this series offers superb talent in a relaxed setting. I’m thrilled that we are able to bring such a terrific lineup to the Hylton Center.”

The American Roots Series originated from audience feedback and patrons’ consistent requests for performances by country and folk artists. With generous local support, the Hylton Center will offer this new series to meet the needs and wants of its immediate community. The concerts will take place in the Gregory Family Theater, a small flexible performance space that allows attendees a more intimate experience with their favorite artists. The venue also offers a more casual environment where audience members can eat and drink while enjoying the show.

The Gregory Family Theater is located in the Hylton Center at 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas. Series packages and tickets to individual performances are on sale and available for purchase in person at the Hylton Center Ticket Office (open Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 a. m.-6:00 p. m.), by calling 888-945-2468, or through the Hylton Performing Arts Center website at HyltonCenter.org.
