Take a deep breath and imagine your longing for chocolate cake getting carried away in the wind. And that apple pie a la mode you’ve been thinking about for two days? You just swept it right out the door with the rest of the dust. It may surprise you to know how these food cravings and your general desire to consume too much food could actually float away … the answer may be hypnosis.

More and more people are turning to the noninvasive, power of hypnosis to aid their weight loss efforts. Do you have 20 stubborn pounds that won’t budge? Have you been on and off every diet you’re heard of in the past 10 years and still haven’t met your weight loss goal? Instead of turning to the risky, invasive gastric band surgery, how about opting for a virtual experience?

The Virtual Gastric Band Option

It may sound strange to hear of a virtual surgery, but take a moment to consider how it works. The mind is powerful, especially your subconscious mind. What it believes and accepts as truth causes behavioral changes in your everyday life.

During a real gastric band procedure, a surgeon places a band around the upper portion of the stomach to physically limit the amount of food a person is able to take in. This operation comes with physical discomfort, interruptions to your daily life and work schedule, and potential risks and complications. There are no concerns for patients undergoing the virtual procedure. Here’s how it works.

How It Works

The Virtual Gastric Band is a five-week program. During each session, your hypnotherapist puts you into a very relaxed state, or hypnotizes you. This allows the subconscious mind to readily soak in the belief that you’ve experienced an actual gastric band surgery. The practitioner will attempt to get to the root cause of your emotional eating and resolve or release those issues while the subconscious is more open to suggestions.

He or she will also walk your mind through many of the preparation steps and experiences your mind would take in during an actual surgery — think hospital machines beeping in the background to bring the setting to life for your subconscious. When you awake from the restful state, your subconscious mind will believe a gastric band has been placed around your stomach and will cause you to feel full after taking in much less food at each meal.

Participants are also given take-home hypnosis sessions to listen to daily to enhance and maintain the positive results they experience. While results may vary, patients are experiencing great successes with this noninvasive procedure. Are you ready to step outside the box and try something new? You’ve got nothing to lose but the weight!
