In celebration of Black History Month, on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., (PWCAC DST) will host a reception at the ARTfactory, 9419 Battle Street, Manassas. The reception will feature a solo art exhibit of Maryland artist Dr. Yemonja Smalls, titled In Our Image: A Reflection of the Creator. The reception is free, and along with the art of Dr. Smalls, attendees can enjoy live music, refreshments, and door prizes.

Dr. Smalls says this about her creations for this exhibit, “Through a symphony of diverse materials and symbolic layers, and the blending of traditional and contemporary elements, my forms reflect the multifaceted nature of our existence.”

For more than 10 years, PWCAC DST has partnered with the ARTfactory to host this Black History reception. Join the members of PWCAC DST and Dr. Yemonja Smalls in celebration of the magical contributions that African Americans make to the arts.
