If you have to go out during inclement weather, and your plans include visiting a County government office, you should check the status of the County government first. You can use the following methods to find out if the County is closed or in an unscheduled leave status:
- Visit the County website (http://www.pwcgov.org/). A notice will be posted on the home page of the website.
- Social Media: Inclement weather closing or unscheduled leave status will also be posted on the County’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pwcgov and Twitter feed at http://www.twitter.com/pwcgov.
- Call PWC-INFO at (703)792-4636 and listen to the initial message which will be changed if the County is closed or if unscheduled leave is in effect.
- Listen to local radio and television stations which are notified as soon as possible of Prince William County’s status.
If there is no message posted on the methods listed above, that means that the County will be open during normal business hours. If the County government is on unscheduled leave, that means County offices will be open for business, but employees may take unscheduled leave until weather conditions permit safe travel to work.
