ISOThrive, a Prince William Science Accelerator tenant, has announced a partnership with uBiome, the leader in microbial genomics, to launch the “Gut Health Challenge.” The ISOThrive Gut Health Challenge gives consumers the first-ever opportunity to feed their beneficial gut bacteria with necessary prebiotic soluble fiber and then scientifically measure and verify how this healthful daily practice affects and changes the organisms living in the gut.
According to the National Institutes of Health, over 70 million people in the U.S. suffer from some form of digestive health problem. Mounting research suggests that a diet high in fiber, especially prebiotic soluble fiber, can help reduce the risk of a number of chronic conditions. ISOThrive Prebiotic Nectar is an all-natural product designed to feed the good bacteria in the gut. The ISOThrive Gut Health Challenge combines the healing and balancing properties of ISOThrive Prebiotic Nectar, to positively improve and heal the gut microbiome, with uBiome’s DNA sequencing technology and online tools to analyze the human gut microbiome, to give customers a glimpse into the inner workings of their gut microbiome.
- How the Challenge works: The consumer uses one of uBiome’s easy-to-use, non-invasive Gut Kits to get a baseline view of his or her gut microbiome, immediately followed by taking ISOThrive for 30 or 90 days to feed the gut’s good bacteria. Then, another Gut Kit is used to compare how ISOThrive’s prebiotic soluble fiber has affected the gut’s bacteria.
- Trust and verify: Rather than blindly trusting that a supplement is working, consumers are able to measure and compare their results to realize the benefits.
- Healthy options: ISOThrive is offering a 30-day Basic Challenge, a 90-day Basic Challenge, and a 90-day Enhanced Challenge in partnership with uBiome.
“To enhance wellness, your gut microbiome needs prebiotic soluble fiber every day. Otherwise, your beneficial bacteria may start eating the gut’s protective lining to stay alive, opening the door to a myriad of diseases and chronic health problems. By partnering with uBiome, we can now objectively test the effects of prebiotic soluble fiber supplement in a larger population. This puts us at the forefront of self-directed, personalized healthcare,” said Jack Oswald, ISOThrive CEO.
“Many people take prebiotic and probiotic supplements without any information on how they affect their gut bacteria. With advancements in microbiome sequencing technology, uBiome gives access to personalized data that allows them to experiment and see the impact of their own habits and diet changes. With the largest microbiome dataset in the world, people not only have the chance to compare the changes over time, but also to compare themselves to other populations. This is something they can do repeatedly over time to track gut wellness,” said Jessica Richman, uBiome CEO.
