Katherine M. Waters grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. She earned her undergraduate degree in Latin American Literature in California and her master’s degree in Environmental Education in Colorado. For a time, she worked for the National Wildlife Federation in Washington, D.C. The final stop on her educational journey was George Washington University for her J.D.
What is your job and how long have you been with Compton & Duling?
I am an attorney with Compton & Duling and have been with the firm for 32 years.
Briefly describe what a typical day in your work life looks like.
A typical day would involve meetings or phone calls with my real estate and business clients (some of whom are churches) to address their land acquisition, land development and loan needs.
What is the best part about working for Compton & Duling?
The best part for me have been the support and loyalty which the firm has given me throughout my time there.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Anything outdoors, such as bird watching, hiking, gardening, working in the yard and, of course, going on walks with my golden retriever.
