All About the Prizes

In addition to the fun and engagement of reading all summer, participants will win rewards and be entered into drawings for fun prizes!

Kids (infants – entering grade 5): Complete activities and bring your game card in to redeem your prizes. You will receive a prize after completing five activities and after completing 10, you will receive a free book and a grand prize drawing entry. The drawing is for a littleBits system of electronic books. Complete all 25 activities for a bonus grand prize drawing entry. There will be one grand prize drawing per library. There will also be nine weekly challenges. Each challenge you complete gives you another chance to win! One winner will be drawn per library, per week.

Young Adults (entering grades 6 – 12): Get a prize when you sign up and another prize after you have completed five activities! After you have completed 10 activities, you will receive a free book and a grand prize drawing entry. The drawing is for a Target gift card. Get a bonus entry for the grand prize drawing when you complete all 25 activities. In addition, there will be nine weekly challenges. Each challenge you complete gives you another chance to win! There will be one winner drawn per library, per week.

Adults: You can get in on the fun, too! You can track your reading on a Summer Reading Bucket List Challenge Bookmark or download the Beanstack Tracker app to track your progress on your phone. Visit your library branch after you’ve checked off 10 items and get entered into the grand prize drawing. You can enter until August 11. Post the reviews of the books you have read on the Beanstack Tracker app for a bonus entry after three reviews. Every week, each library will also hold a drawing for a $10 Target gift card. To be entered, tell us what you are reading.

How to Complete Activities

“This summer, we are encouraging children and teens to complete activities that interest them on the Summer Reading Game Cards,” Johnson said. “There are 25 activities to choose from: Just complete each activity and cross it off! It doesn’t matter what order you go in, as long as you complete five activities to get a prize, then 10 activities to get a free book and entry into a grand prize drawing. Complete all 25 activities for a bonus entry into the grand prize drawing.”

This program is possible through the support from Prince William Ice Center and more than 60 local businesses. For more information, visit pwcgov.org/library.
